Dr. Helena Schrader, career diplomat with the U.S. Department of State, has been a regular contributor and guest scholar, and now serves as Principal Editor for Real Crusades History. Dr. Scrader is of particular expertise in the history and environment of the Crusader States. She is an author of  scholarly works, as well as historical fiction, including the award-winning Knight of Jerusalem, Defender of Jerusalem, and Envoy of Jerusalem.

Dr. Andrew Latham, Professor and Chair at the Department of Political Science, Macalester College, St. Paul, Minnesota, has served as an academic advisor to Real Crusades History. Dr. Latham addresses a wide variety of medieval, geopolitical, and Crusades topics in his scholarly essays. His publications include Theorizing Medieval Geopolitics: War and World Order in the Age of the Crusades,  as well as the fictional The Holy Lance and the soon to be publishedTheTemplar's Revenge.

Andrea). Dr Holt addresses a wide variety of religious, geopolitical, and Crusades topics in his scholarly essays.
